My name is Lorenzo Mangini, I am a filmmaker and video designer based in Milan.
I study Video Design at the European Institute of Design (IED), where I am developing a multidisciplinary approach to directing, cinematography, and editing, combining visual theory with project-based practice.
My work stems from the urgency to transform thought into image. In my projects, I seek an aesthetic coherence that is never an end in itself but always serves the emotional narrative. My influences range from experimental cinema to video art, from which I draw inspiration to craft strong, intimate, and visceral atmospheres.
In recent months, I have directed and worked on short films, fashion films, and music videos, taking on various roles such as director, assistant director, camera operator, gaffer and more. I have collaborated with musicians, performers, and other creatives to produce custom visual content, developing a production sensibility that balances visual precision with the practical demands of the set.
I am capable of managing small crews and working efficiently even in logistically complex environments.
I believe in the power of cinema as a sensorial and spiritual experience. Each project is, for me, an attempt to capture something true, something that remains through light and time.
